Southlands Farm Workshop is a man cave hidden deep in the Northumbrian countryside. It’s Charles McGowan’s eighth workshop and the first to have been designed specifically for the job.

Charles has been restoring cars since 1982 and in that time has restored many cars of many marques including W.O.Bentley. Bristol, Fordson, Healey, Land Rover, Maserati, MG, Porsche, Riley, Triumph, Volvo, VW and Wolseley, to name a few, but has a particular penchant for Bristols and early cars.

Happy to undertake the following:

Engine rebuilds.

Gearbox rebuilds.

Axle and differential rebuilds.

Suspension rebuilds.

Brake rebuilds.

Chassis Restoration and strengthening.

Bespoke roll cage building.

Our J.D.Squared bender and homebrew “Notchomatic 3000” gets the job done.

Panel repairs, lead loading.

Wiring and electrics.

Crimp terminals, unnecessary joints, poor insulation and wrong coloured wires all make for future breakdowns and frustrations.
